Section 508 Training

Complying with Section 508

Before You Buy

If you're involved with buying ANYTHING for your agency, one of the key steps is determining if the product or service has met the contractual requirements. This includes checking for compliance with Section 508, both during the requirements determination and final procurement phases.

Keep in mind that more than one EIT category may apply to a procurement. For instance, the physical components of a multimedia kiosk may fall under one set of standards while the interface could fall under another set. Part of your responsibility in the early stages of the procurement process is to determine which of the standards need to be met for the product to be sufficiently accessible.
