Related EIT and Accessibility Issues

As you begin to factor the Section 508 requirements into your procurements, be aware of “hidden” issues. For instance, when planning a training or conference event, although the primary focus isn't EIT, Section 508 requirements may still apply. Examples of issues you may come across include:

  • Videos used in a presentation must be captioned. They should also include audio descriptions or be adequately described by the presenters.
  • Handouts and materials must be provided in electronic or alternate formats when requested.
  • Any supporting web sites for registration and conference materials must be accessible.
